- Do not give careless statements like the ones that you came on job interview by accident or that you just wanted to see how an interview looks like. You should not give bad comments of your previous employer.
- Have an adequate communication with no sarcasm or underestimation towards the company or selection in general.
- Wear adequate clothes. Avoid negligence (see through t-shirt, high heels, intensive make-up, casual clothing, sneakers, etc.).
- Be prepared for the interview. Candidates often go on an interview unprepared (they have no information regarding the company; they do not know what the company is looking for). Also, they are often very nervous or opposite, they give impression like it is of no importance for them.
- Do not give generalized answers. Give an exact answer on a specific question. Avoid phrases.
- Reasons for wanting to change your current job must be logical and clear.
- Avoid artificial cordiality in communication.
- Do not make unnecessary digressions. Avoid going into details of no importance, make difference between useful and irrelevant information about yourself. Time for a job interview is more or less limited.
- Do not comment on the working conditions. Employers can (according to the law) determine working hours, overtime, ways for stimulation, number of vacation days and the salary amount. Giving bad comments on those conditions is unnecessary.
- Avoid insisting on your private contacts and acquaintances which could help the employer and his business.
- Avoid negative convictions while talking about work or during the tests (psychological tests).
- Avoid talking too fast or too slow.
- Depression, demoralization or dejection show that there is no passion for work.
- Do not avoid to answer the question about the expected salary amount if asked and never be the first one to ask how much is the salary.
- Always talk with respect towards the person that is interviewing you and use formal communication no matter how relaxed the atmosphere is.
